A Seattle native, Danan attended the University of Washington School of Law, where he was Notes and Comments Editor for the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal, a member of the Student Bar Association and a student representative on the Law School Admissions Committee. Danan earned his undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from Rutgers University, where upon graduation he was named to the National Scholar-Athlete Honor Society and the National Political Science Honor Society.
Prior to law school, Danan rowed with the United States National Team, was the Head Rowing Coach at Emory University and was the owner of several small businesses.
In his free time, Danan enjoys providing pro bono work, skiing, traveling, playing basketball, hiking in the Cascades, reading non-fiction and improving his Seattle-based business blog.
